The River Rules

The Guadalupe River stretches more than 230 miles through the Texas Hill Country, but some of the best floating happens right here in New Braunfels. It’s clear, cool, and one of the few local rivers where you can still bring cans along for the ride. That’s right! No can ban here. Load up your cooler tube, grab your crew, and let the river do the work.

Of course, a great float comes with a few ground rules:

  • No glass containers
  • No foam coolers or foam products
  • No littering—pack it in, pack it out
  • No plastic containers smaller than 5 oz (like those mini liquor bottles)
  • No trespassing on private riverbanks

Violations can cost you up to $500, so float responsibly and help keep the river beautiful for everyone.

We’ve got trash bags, cooler tubes, and friendly reminders at check-in, so you’re all set before you even hit the water.

And before you head out, be sure to check the current river flow conditions.
Water levels can change quickly, especially after rain. For the latest updates, visit
